EXHIBITION: 黒田潔「線」at TETOKA

Atmosphereでは、8月23日から東京・神田にあるTETOKAで行われる、黒田潔の個展「線」の開催をお知らせ致します。

黒田さんとはGASBOOK tee / 2009 Spring Collection でも一緒にお仕事をさせて頂いています。

 

Atmosphere would like to inform Kiyoshi Kuroda’s upcoming exhibition “Line” at TETOKA- Tokyo Kanda.

黒田潔は、1975年東京都生まれ、多摩美術大学大学院美術研究科グラフィックデザイン専攻修了。

東京を拠点に、イラストレーター、アートディレクターとしてマスメディアの分野で活躍する一方、繊細でダイナミックなドローイングを武器に数多くのアートワークを発表しています。

 

Kiyoshi Kuroda was born in Tokyo in 1975. He studied graphic design at Tama Art University Graduate School.

He has been active in mass media as an art director and illustrator. On the other hand, he has been showed a lot of artworks using by sensitive and dynamic drawing.

 

近年では、ナム＝ジュン・パイク・アートセンター「Now Jump!」展（2008年）や東京都現代美術館「MOTアニュアル2010：装飾」展（2010年）における大画面のウォールペインティング、アラスカの森の情景を描いた作品集『森へ』（2010年）、古川日出男とのコラボレーション『舗装道路の消えた世界』（2012年）等多方面で活躍しています。更に2014年には、「舗装道路の消えた世界」がパリ装飾芸術美術館のパブリック・コレクションに収蔵されました。

都心ながら自然に恵まれた環境で育った黒田は、東京の都市文化を背景とした現代的、装飾的な線遣いで、幼少期から関心を持ち続けている動植物の世界を描いています。動物や昆虫が今にも動き出しそうな躍動感あふれる画面、植物の持つエロティックでなまめかしい質感の描写、自然の崇高さを感じさせる繊細で綿密なタッチからなる作品は、白と黒を基調としているにもかかわらず、鑑賞者に鮮やかな印象を残します。

 

Recently, he’s been working for various project / exhibitions, such as mural painting at “Now Jump” at Nam June Paik art centre (2008) and  “MOT annual 2010 : Neo-Ornamentalism” at Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and also “森へ | To the forest” (2010) which is an artist book featuring his drawings of Alaskan forest, plus a collaborative work with Hideo Furukawa “舗装道路の消えた世界 | No Paved Roads Any More” (2012), which was stored as a part of the public collection at musée des arts décoratifs in 2014.

Since. he was born and raised in rural part of Tokyo, he’s been drawing his life-long interests towards the world of animals and plants with background of Tokyo skyscraper view with his ornamental touch.
The drawings of insects and animals are quite lively and it seems like they are about to move, and as for the plants, it’s meticulously drawn and showing their texture with erotic touch, but also it gives you the feeling of sublimity. 
Those drawings shows you their vividness despite those black and white colour.

 

今回の個展では、近年中心となっていた鉛筆を使用した精密な描写から離れ、黒田の原点ともいえる白黒のシンプルなタッチによる新作ドローイングの発表があります。

8月23日（土）には、アーティストを囲みオープニング・レセプションが開催される予定です。

This exhibition will announce  his latest simple drawing using by black and white, which is his starting point.

The opening reception will be held in August 23th on Saturday.
